History

Kaiser Corson Funeral Homes Inc., has been serving Waverly, Shell Rock, Denver and Readlyn area families for years. We are honored to be a part of the rich history of this community and plan to be a part of it for many years to come.

In 1901, George J. Kaiser began what is now known as Kaiser-Corson Funeral Homes. He started this way of life not to be a casket retailer or merchandiser of funeral related products, but to help those who had suffered a loss due to a death. This assistance he offered unconditionally, always with the best interest of the families in mind. George J. Kaiser was a funeral service professional, whose greatest concern was giving respect and dignity to the dead and loving assistance to the families left behind. Over the years, Mr. Kaiser was joined in business by his grandson, James Corson, and James’ sons, Calvin, Steven and Carter. Calvin retired in 2009 and Steven and Carter retired in 2019. The current owners are all former long-time employees of the Corson family and include: Darren O'Donnell, Ryan Tucker, Jon Dumermuth and Denee Muller.
